It's not all rigged but there's no industry that doesn't have bullshit/shenanigans happening behind the scenes.

I think I realized a year or two ago that the real privilege in life is growing up with self-awareness, being able to reflect on yourself and develop a clear sense of consciousness. Very few people can calmly and honestly sit with themselves and the world around them. But if you can do that, every mental door is open to you and that eventually translates into real life too
The only downside is that you start noticing how many people don’t have that privilege. It becomes pretty obvious, and you come to the sad realization that most men aren’t truly confident, they’re just hiding behind a facade they built to protect themselves

You're absolutely right.
There's this thing I remember from classes called modeling where we pretty much just repeat behaviors we see other people carry out without even knowing why they did it because we think it had a successful outcome.
We just behave a certain way and dress a certain way without our own personal conscious input or self-reflection.
It's wild.

it's rigged enough that having discussion about it all day in relation to the quality/popularity of music is complete nonsense. if every single mainstream artist has their label using bots, manipulating streaming algorithms, top list playlisting and radio play off pure payola, skewing sales numbers with bundles/rule circumventing/etc... there is 0 logical reason to even discuss it like it's any sort of objective measure of anything
