People really think Drake suing UMG to get out his deal wasn’t always the end result. Bro been talking slick about his label since 2010. This was always going to happen. Whether he “won” or “lost” to Kendrick, UMG was always getting sued.

he ain't suing to get out his deal
His deal is up this year regardless
Drake ❤️
Not going to read all these papers, have enough work of my own to do that actually gets me a bag. But I wouldn't rely on random comments made by people on the internet, which might ironically be bots themselves, unless I didn't have enough evidence of a nature like you mentioned (deals, sponsorships etc)
"Fama" = reputation, your good standing in the community. Defamation is obviously the degradation of that. Saying "These random people on the internet, which might not actually even be people, said this about me" is weak evidence. How tf can you prove actual harm/loss you suffered because random people on the internet said mean things about you?
Truth is also an established defence to defamation. Kendrick Lamar didn't create the narrative that Drake is a pedophile, it was already in existence and Drake himself mentioned it on Taylor Made. This suit is confusing because there's defamation, bot allegations and he's suing UMG instead of the person who made the song. But looking at it solely from a defamation point of view, it's not a good idea to rely on random YouTube/X/IG comments
Online comments and viral tweets with more than millions of interactions, Youtube videos, Podcasts etc. can be used to show that the actions of UMG have swayed the public perception of him. It's not like we are speaking of 1000-2000 people calling him a pdf as a result of the song. We are talking about +100K comments, the song being performed - with UMG's approval - at shows that have been watched by +100m viewers.. But, as I said in the first post, and as you said in the response, you need more than that.
Don't see what is confusing about the lawsuit. He is suing HIS OWN label for their involvement in pushing and promoting a slanderous song about him. Doesn't matter if those kind of lies existed before - the slanderous song and its promotion by his own label caused those lies to go from small stories to him being referred to/seen as a pdf by a very significant amount of people (according to the nature of the lawsuit).
But it's still early days, let's see how far it will go and what will be revealed but it's obviously UMG's case to lose.
One of the tweets that was used in the amended filing
Interestingly enough this guy had also tagged the docket page on the tweet and we know they are real lawyers on that page and have contact with drakes lawyers so they must have got this from them. Great work
lol what is it
his team is incompetent or UMG is doing the same thing they do for others for him also🤣🤣
choosing not to bundle ur album with merch is somehow incompetent now
No, his team is incompetent when it comes to physical releases. The last 7 years every time he’s tried to do physicals it’s been a s*** show.
And UMG can easily have dirt on him showing that they’ve used manipulation and/or other nefarious methods to fabricate his streaming numbers. Idk why y’all act like streams can’t be faked or heavily manipulated

"small stories" bruh, Drake himself made reference to it on Taylor Made
When that Bella Harris s*** happened, I heard a random radio station in my country talk about it. Years before the beef
I don't completely disagree with your post, but there's the usual falsifying and misrepresentations you do to defend Drake. But yeah, let's see how it plays out

Going back and forth with Zack regarding this is pointless. He has completely no idea how defamation lawsuits work in real life

Ovo docket is a stan account ran by some twitter stan named ovovash or some s***. It’s not a page of lawyers. That’s a larp
I also hope UMG ends his career for good and redirect that $700M to independent artists who actually deserve it.
@Zackbrah It does in fact matter that those kinds of stories existed before in a defamation suit. And like @AZNoah said, there's a different standard applied to public figures in lawsuits involving defamation/right to privacy
He doesn’t understand this, nor will he accept it as reality
brah yall niggas love givin da devils benefits of da doubt
Not d***riding Drake ain’t giving the devils a benefit of the doubt. It’s alot of you niggas that were defending Drake doing this deal wit the “devil” in the first place I ain’t forget.
Been on the stance of f*** both of em, but after seeing unhinged Stans try and push that Drake was some industry rebel going against the machine for smaller artist. I’m for all the embarrassment that could potentially come.

and redirect that $700M to independent artists who actually deserve it
Lmao nothing new has happened and Drake Stan’s in here having a circle jerk about it lol
There’s been like 5 times where absolutely nothing has happened and they think it’s some groundbreaking development
I still don’t understand what Drake wants out of this, what’s the endgame for him. Say he wins or whatever then what the fans won’t give a s***. The song is already cemented in history.
This lawsuit is actually a big W for Kendrick for three reasons:
First, it exposes what happens when a lame gets too much power and thinks he’s bigger than the whole genre.
Second, the longer this lawsuit drags on the longer NLU stays relevant. The song is about to hit 1.5B streams and its anniversary is coming up so this lawsuit is actually free promo.
Third, UMG now has the solid excuse to delay or even completely block the next rollout basically making sure the next album never sees the light of day (huge win for Hiphop)
That being said I get why he mad and its not cause Kendrick called him a pdf (he actually doesnt care about that). The real issue is that kendrick messed up his potential $700m bag.
Any new deal now is gonna be way lower probably under $150M that's almost $600M gone lol. No wonder he’s pissed especially since money is his obsession (he’s addicted to gambling and needs money otherwise he has to borrow from Stakkke).
I hope this lawsuit drags on for at least another year tbh.

This is facts. This is 100% about a bag and not the actual comments made about him
