you arguing against yourself brodie, no one in here said jayz was a mastermind that took SoA down lmfao

Exactly. My initial comment said it was taken down because of the sample not Jay Z himself.

you and i talking about copyright infringement and they turning it into illuminati lmfao

But we’ve given you numerous examples in which labels completely ignore copyright infringement
But we’ve given you numerous examples in which labels completely ignore copyright infringement
2 examples which benefit the label, 1 example (SoA) which hurts the labels bottom line
which one you think they're going to copyright strike?

But the song was never taken down from SoundCloud, which is where most people heard it
Also Story of Adidon was not hurting UMG’s bottom line man what are we talking about about
Drama sells, beef sells
LOL when have i spun it? point to me changing it. unforgivable said "you cant convince me drake wasnt in their ear" and i responded to that saying they took it down for copyright infringement and theres like a 6 year gap obviously they're going to behave differently with SoA and NLU
all ive said in here is that i believe its likely truly just the simplest answer, copyright infringement was used as a reason to bring down content that was hurting the labels $$
when did i contradict that?
again, you're twisting my words
6 years changes a relationship, and if what is being alleged in the lawsuit is true, they might have a different relationship with drake now versus 6 years ago
no fake neutral s*** here lmfao, i can point to many drake threads where i've gotten flamed out of the thread completely for stating simple facts

I don’t get why you’re operating under the assumption that rap beef hurts labels financially
I don’t get why you’re operating under the assumption that rap beef hurts labels financially
i mean, thats what this entire lawsuit is about basically at least my understanding of it
drake is alleging that umg pushed NLU in a way to hurt him so that way it devalued him and they could negotiate a lower number
that second part "NLU hurt him in a way it devalued him" shows that beef has the potential to lower an artists value
you dont think negative press can affect an artist?
so when did i change my argument? in both i said they took down the song due to copyright strike? i actually corrected myself in the middle and admitted my recollection of copyright stuff was wrong
im confused what the issue is here?
lmaooo just remembered that you're the dude that got proven wrong about the pain1993 verse after claiming you "saw it with your own eyes" so then you just left the thread

Negative press can affect an artist but nobody forced Drake to engage in this battle. He chose to take the risk and ended up on the losing side.
I don’t see how he can blame the label because he willingly entered the battle and got a smash hit dropped on him

yeah i 100% agree with you, i said before im pretty 50/50 on the lawsuit and i think it changed my perspective on drake in a negative way
i was just commenting on what the lawsuit alleges (hence writing "drake is alleging") and how it backs up my claim that a beef can negatively affect an artist
How many times has drakes team changed the reason for the lawsuit
I’d say the numbers probably in the mid to low teens

Drake was the highest streamed artist of 2024 and the second best-selling artist globally in 2024.
That song did not affect him financially in any way, shape, or form
His own assertions about his current status in verses post-beef contradicts his claim in the lawsuits that this beef affected his status in a negative way
