So, major labels stay out of rap beef. That's a win.

Drake fans think no more mainstream rap beefs is a win because Drake hasn’t won one in 10 years

Except it could very well impact music outside of “rap beef” as stated before, even if it didn’t why would giving major labels more power on what lyric gets to stay and what gets omitted being a positive thing?

Read through some of the previous posted tweets and we should be a bit nervous on how this plays out.

There could be some really serious consequences including censorship to the genre as a whole.

It’s pretty easy to see how major labels might not want to take a chance with something like this moving forward, scariest part is that it may not just be from a “rap beef” lens.

oh no how will the labels survives if they cant profit of someone being labeled a certified pdfile on the biggest song of the year

    oh no poor labels

its almost like this never has happened before, but UMGs greed and relationships got the best of them. They really are trying to sell it to the masses as something completely normal.

Because that would only affect music that's officially released on DSPs

So you’re admitting this song destroyed Drake?

  • Mar 21, 2025

Drake fans keep repeating this “oh so you’re supporting the big labels!?” S***

Drake is literally suing them because they weren’t controlling enough. Like what about this is hard to understand

something can only be damaging if it straight up destroys you ?

so multiple attempts are fine as long as the bullet doesnt connect with your head? if thats your argument thats weak.

Not every artist is drake, a lot of artists sign to a label just so they can get their music into the public eye, would be awesome if it wasn’t the case but that’s just how the industry is built currently.

Explain why it would be a positive thing for these artists to have to face censorship when releasing their music?

The interesting thing is I’m actually taking a more anti label stance then you are, labels are gonna profit way too much on the music artists release.. we know that.

But why would we ever want to risk censorship on tracks their artists release just because it could be considered a possible risk for a lawsuit?

It did enough damage worthy of a lawsuit?

These Drake Stans want to add another step in the approval process for releasing music. That means we gotta wait longer for music. They’re idiots

I think they are hyper fixated on the Kendrick drake beef and aren’t really seeing the whole picture.

Unless they are pro censorship, which is fine but don’t pretend it’s a pro artist stance to have.

I think it’s fair to say this however if you actually believe this, it applies for both artists, there’s no way to say one artist did and the other didn’t without showing bias.
