I distinctly remember radio programmers playing Back to Back right after it dropped (when it hadn't even been serviced to radio). UMG had planned to service the song on radio the following Tuesday. It was scheduled on the allaccess site.

As a response to them going against Drake's wishes, he dropped 4 songs on DSPs the Friday prior (Charged Up, Back to Back, Hotline Bling and Right Hand) and pushed for Hotline Bling to get pushed instead. They only started pushing Hotline Bling when they saw the song taking off with people and the rest is history.

Left to UMG, Drake's hit from summer 2015 would have been Back to Back, not Hotline Bling.
