I know it's not a direct admission of guilt, but it's definitely interesting that UMG went from fighting to have to give Drake's legal team any information at all to having to give them information but insisting that giving them the information they're asking for isn't necessary when they could easily give the information they're asking for, knowing those things won't become public knowledge and they won't find anything useful in them as a way to prove to the judge how ridiculous this whole case is and get themselves the motion to dismiss they want so badly but I get this is a court case and the goal is to not make it easy the person you're up against lol.

Pretty sure that phase of “be careful what you wish for” was just pr spin and to scare Drake. Now that things are moving, UMG lawyers actually have to be serious and do their job. It’s kinda malpractice if they don’t make it as difficult as possible for Drake’s lawyers to get the needed documents. There’s still some pr talk in their motion but not as much as before

We don't know that for sure yet but one would imagine that he's definitely not gonna resign with UMG once he fulfils his contractual obligations to them.

Yeah, definitely and look, I understand that as a multi-billion dollar corporation that's constantly being sued, it'd be silly if they made it a habit to jump whenever anyone sues them and asks for documents from them so they have set a precedent to not give them up easily. Still, if they truly wanted this case to go away quickly, giving Drake's legal team the documents they're asking for, knowing they wouldn't find anything useful in them (because UMG is supposedly innocent of everything they're being accused of) is the way to go. That tells the judge they have nothing to hide and would immediately signal to her that Drake's legal team has no case. A dismissal would quickly follow. Just saying.
