Again, yāall are putting words in my mouth. I never said I wanted him to ārap his ageā. Yes his duty is to make great music, all Iām pointing out is that his approach has changed creatively.
Thatās not a dig at the music either, Iāve had Her Loss on repeat since it dropped.
My point is that introspection and emotional depth donāt seem to be all that important to him in his creative approach anymore. Thatās all. Just an observation.
My post wasn't about you specifically. Just about the general feedback people have been having about Drake's music.
Also, who the f*** wants or was expecting mostly introspective raps on a collab album with 21 Savage? Some of you say s*** just to say it.
I wasnāt expecting that from a collab album with 21 Savage. I said multiple times this is something thatās changed in Drakeās music since around 2016/2017
They memed the hell outta Rich Flex but the way he sets up 21 for his verse is so catchy dawg, I love it
Damn thatās an interesting thought
I was expecting a full studio effort next after these two amazing āsideā type projects but i might be thinking too predictable
And you really think heās gonna fall back?
Nah he won't lol not with this new deal
It's the reason we got HNVM and this project
But that's the reason I think a full R&B is possible now, he kinda just doing passion projects

I think Drake considers these full studio efforts, but more as passion projects rather than for the fans

Need that TikTok stimulus to last a few weeks
I'm a fan of Her Loss and to me Honestly Nevermind is his best project since 2015, if not my favorite ever
but Drake is absolutely missing a hunger he used to have, even if he's a better technical rapper. it's just palpable. doesn't have much to do with introspection IMO.

Iām in for more passion projects
You remember pre CLB when he was talking about NWTS being his best and that CLB was gonna kind of go that direction and length? Obviously that ended up changing but my personal dream would be him going back to that idea with the passion project mentality and just make the perfect drake studio album, maybe after an R&B one
But this is an exciting time I canāt wait for whatās next

Stop looking for the Drake of yesterday, focus on the Drake of today.

If anything he seems more energized on this and did something left field like KTT been begging on HVNM. I guess im wondering what does hunger mean to you?
crazy that none of the critics mentioned his pro-abortion line on this thing as far as i know
Losses from DLDT gets glossed over as a very introspective joint, what you think of that one @shaleirose
Drake even said at the time that was a preview of what to expect on CLB
Wonder if he has a bunch of joints like that in the tuck
Shoutout to the 6ix, R.I.P the 8's
Swear this s*** is getting ate, I'm on ten for the cake
Get a lot of love from twelve, but I don't reciprocate
Fifty one divisions stay patrolling when it's late
21 my addy so the knife is on the gate
All the dogs eating off a BACARA plate
This number scheme so fire

He's been on top so long now you're not getting that Headlines hunger; Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but better you hear it now than later.
