Even if you hate the story/transformations the animation and fight sequencing alone puts this in the top half of DB movies. Let’s not act like half of them aren’t straight basura

The Android arc starts off so well too. As soon as Cell is introduced into the story and Piccolo fuses with Kami it falls off a cliff and doesn’t really get any momentum back until Goku and Gohan fight Cell.

Buu saga should have been nixed before it even began, even though I think he’s a pretty good villain. they should have focused more on Gohan’s high school adventures and s*** for a while longer lol

I think it falls off after Semi-Perfect Cell is introduced. First Form Cell is pretty dope and adds a scary and chilling vibe to the arc. I wish Toriyama stuck to his guns and kept Cell first form as the villain and didn't give it transformations.

Yeah, I think the android arc was kind of meh until First Form Cell appear. It's after Semi-Perfect Cell comes that it falls oof, but then goes back up after Perfect Cell appear.

Nahhhhhh Buu isn't the problem with that arc. Fat Buu honestly is needed to show how Buu absportion weakened Kid Buu and super buu. The problem is the power scaling is all over the place and Kid Buu should have been shown to be the strongest version of Buu, instead it's the third strongest.

Buu saga suffers from Toriyama's editor butting in.

I like the reveal of Cell, but then they kill it with him explaining his entire backstory to Piccolo. They set up the mystery angle with the time machine only to give up a few episodes later.

That's the pacing of the anime. Also depends on what version of the anime you're watching as well. In the manga it's not that quick.

I always wondered if Cell would keep Dr. Gero around if he was alive to see Cell become perfect. Knowing Cell's disdain for the human race would he kill his own creator too?

I get what you mean. This movie definitely was a big fan service for fans of the cell saga. Gohan as the main character, The big hair on Gohan's new form and the piccolo outfit inspired by his SS2 teen form while fighting Cell max. It was a return to form for people who missed Gohan in the call saga. It did feel kinda cheap tho ngl
