I’m hoping they been animating these arcs over the past year or so and have a steady release at least by mid summer next year it’s been 3 damn years

Probably after the new movie to let the manga get a few arcs ahead. They don't want to do filler. They would catch up to quickly and the show would just end again.

Nah the anime is definitely coming back. The manga only was behind the anime because they started at the same time. The manga was monthly while the anime was weekly.

The current plan will be that the anime will follow the manga so the anime won't be a complete mess anymore. That's why the manga has started to incorporate anime exclusive transformations like Vegeta's SSBE.

We probably get some kind of announcement this year. DBS was supposed to came back two years ago but the pandemic had other plans for it and I think Digimon becoming more popular than anticipated also probably pushed plans back. Everything was lined up for DBS to return in 2020 from voice actors for the show they were back in the studio to directors flat out saying it was coming back in 2020.

Does dragon ball’s team really think amalgamating old traits from past antagonists = original villains
