Should also mention that the Buu Saga of Kai is the laziest remaster for a DBZ arc/movie since the orange bricks DVD sets. They didn't really didn't give it the same treatment as the 3 arcs before. It's just the Z version of the anime with updated dialogue.

Yeah they cut certain scenes that was added in the original run of the show and updated some visuals. Vegito fight with Super Buu is way shorter in the manga and so they adapted it exactly like that. They didn't even expound upon scenes like they did in other arcs. They didn't do this arc for Kai any justice. It was like wtf.

Ok so I did some more research, and the answer is a little convoluted

So the show has never been actually called “non canon” by Toriyama or the GT creators. BUT, because GT wasn’t Toriyama’s creation…it’s not considered a part of his timeline

Basically GT is canon, but it takes place in an alternate timeline. All of those events happened, but not in the main DB Super timeline

It is elseworld s*** essentially. Japanese creators don't seem to really care aboutt he whole canon/non canon stuff. It's as real as Super is, but as it's own thing or separate dimension/timeline so to speak.

It's not canon in regards to anything going on with Super and the rest of the series.

Think of it more like how comic books haven't completely separate stories with the same character.

Their dragon balls are protected by the machine looking things. I'd assume the ruleset he created with those dragon balls simply doesn't work in a way that he can just magically summon them. Given that he's a grand old Namekian with experience in dragon ball creating he can do that in other realms that don't have the security he placed on his own dragon balls.

screenrant is not really all that reliable to begin lol but gt is like canon in the sense that they actively acknowledge the series existence and include it in a lot of games but a lot of it conflicts with super timeline
