She herself said it’s a mixtape idk why yall not taking her at her word

This is all semantics to me considering the fact that she’s treating it like an album and submitted the project for awards + GKMC is Dot’s first major label album

truth be told it’s also the black underground fans. not sure if older gen alpha/young gen-Z’s black parents didn’t have the “talk” with them or what, but a lot of black teenagers think like white ppl now

u can’t say s*** abt these white rappers without a d***head underground stan w/ curtain dreads jumping in front of the fire for them

“shi not even that deep bruh stop reachin ong”

    It starts at home fs.

This is exactly what Alligator Bites sounded like

Nah. There were a couple okay songs on it, nothing that i'd save tho. Felt like most of it was half ideas and demos. But it's all subjective soo

In the interview with Rick Rubin he even refers to TPAB as his 2nd album

Well also that’s the point of the album lol she intended to have the project be a proof of concept across all her skill sets

One thing I think people truly do not understand is the fact that the industry is built off osmosis from artists that people (fans and other artists) actually respect

The difference with a lot of these up and comers is that no one is co-signing them, making music with them, bringing them out during shows, letting them open on tour, etc. For example, the first time I ever really took in Uzi was at Yams day in 2015 because I was already a fan of the mob and they were respected within hip-hop, so I became curious and turned into a fan

We’re seeing something similar now with artists like Doechii through obviously TDE, Kendrick and Bey. Mk.gee through SZA, Yachty, 6lack and Bieber

As far as I can tell right now no one cares about Molly Santana except Osamason and Nettspend

This was in response to the recent trend of people labeling introspective hip-hop as lame and calling it ‘Harriet Tubman’ music

So how does an album full of half ideas sound like the fully fleshed out songs I linked lol

I'll be here for her debut.

How can you even call yourself a hip hop fan if you don't like hip hop? Go f***ing listen to some other genre and don't complain about people who you aren't entertained by.

Fireflies, Denial, Alligator Bites, Wait, Slide all sound fleshed out

And that opening stretch is just back-to-back-to-back-to-back if really good shows of skill on a same palette so it feels like a medley

It’s another discussion to be had on just how dumbed down the verbiage has declined for rappers.

Like all the trap, gangster, street rappers of the 90s and 00s all just…used more words than the trap, gangster, street rappers of the now dawg.

its because the latter wants to portray themselves as d***ged out (usually pills or lean) and/or not caring about the music because they have better priorities like going after the opps or doing more d****

Rap just a reflection of society.

We gotten so dumbed down that niggas make videos of this because it’s becoming…like not common for folks to read anymore

I think that's because peoples attention spans have gotten worse over time and I think this is mostly due to the smartphone because when they were less common and even with TV and desktop/laptop computers, it wasn't this bad

I was born in 2001 and I only got persistent access to a smartphone when I was around 12 years old, I used to be able to keep steadier focus on things like books for example but since we've entered this new "ipad kid" era, it's been downhill
