It got even more extreme after DOA and even more popular - which again means he failed and was off the mark of what was happening

Right which I get, n I agree to an extent (I think there are other factors tho imo) - which is dissing autotune in itself and using it as the main the culprit

I thot u were agreeing with Mitch that he wasn't outright dissing Autotune in itself tho, which I disagree

I think he was clearly shooting at Autotune usage, while being a clear hypocrite about it (mixed with Kanye own jealousy of Tpain that pushed for it), and he got clowned on it by southern rappers of the late 2000s n 2010s for it too

But yeah, Autotune got truly accepted by the space in the space in the 2nd half of the 2010s when it was only clowned by YouTube comment tier ppl, but before that it was still clowned on in the first half of 2010s by much of the culture even tho it was growing in popularity. And to part of what you were saying, it def did become more of a crutch in the 2nd half of the 2010s instead of a stylistic choice or effect.

I'm not ranting, I'm literally conversation and extrapolating - I just write in-depth in general

And I disagree, I'm not saying he can't change his mind in the future, but at the time he was def s***ting on Autotune as a whole overall and everyone took it that way and some even pushed against him

TPain has even said it screwed his label situation up because his label thot Jay was gonna set a new trend of anti autotune in the mainstream

It was def presented as and too that way then and for the next few years to come

Which is part of my point that he is a hypocrite and I've typed to you and in general in the thread how he still uses autotune people which makes it even more embarrassing and part of why he clowned and why it fell apart. He was literally getting grilled and picked apart for DOA when it dropped and years after from multiple angles, which goes back to my og point is that it seems to be a factual failure regardless.

• I said "you said" as a paraphrase that you were saying he wasn't dissing as a whole in itself, which isn't me claiming that you're disregarding his autotune diss altogether, you've more literal said he dissing aspects of it by certain people and certain uses. Which my disagreement is that he was dissing Autotune fully, not just a selective. While being a hypocrite/exceptions for those that use it on his side. I did not say you were disregarding the autotune diss altogether.

He's a hypocrite and out of touch in this instance, to me, while perhaps fishing for an "easy" trendsetting goal (like the trends he did such as no more throwback jerseys in ny and so on) with how vocal people are about hating Autotune (even tho Autotune has always done well on charts and sales). Lot of Jays rivals at the time were also using Autontune at the time and then Kanye beef with tpain, so it was prob a way to dig a knife in the wound of their "enemies" with how people talk about autotune. Which we know especially now how spiteful Kanye and Jay are and how much they twist ankles just to embarrass someone they see as a foe.

It's just a failure of a song and moment all around that showed both their asses. And to me, one of the biggest examples of player hating or ball hogging.
