Not even remotely close to over.
I hate to say it but it’s looking bleak for the Drizzler atm.
Hes like pretty clearly gonna do more tough talk lol, he aint letting this s*** go
It'll fall on deaf ears.
Ti or snoop dogg tier
But I think jay z fits that bill too, I think if you were like on top top you get higher sales than most as a legacy act…then again 50 cent had that and he’s more in that to/snoop tier so idk
An 8 track Drake album would feel weird thats not the kinda artist he is
12-15 should be his new approach going forward though
8 songs is wild. Bro is not Pink Floyd
Do you think Drake going to reach the same commercial success he has been having after this UMG lawsuit?
@op
No, as stated in op s*** is definitely diminished. But I still think he will be among the most relevant in hip hop. At the very least, people are gonna want to hear from Drake about all this s*** on the next project. Drake has a long way to fall before he’s done, he’s climbed so high
Legacy acts ain’t selling 200-300k first week in hiphop outside of Em lol
Kanye a legacy act and he didn’t touch them numbers
Kanye’s last album with a label backing him did 327K
yeah i can spin his introspective melodic pop/R&B stuff but the Red Buttons and Diplomatic Immunities are out of the wheelhouse for me @ this stage
dude went out sad, im huge on separating art from artist but he got embarrassed on a grand stage so it’s been difficult to take the music serious
Red Button is an amazing song lol, he should get rid of the Her Loss FATD ‘hard’ tracks. Not the bar tracks
Hes like pretty clearly gonna do more tough talk lol, he aint letting this s*** go

8 songs is wild. Bro is not Pink Floyd
Yeah exactly that’d be really weird from him and wouldnt feel like a Drake album at all
50 was never the same after his tussle with Jimmy Iovine
And neither was MJ
50 was never the same after his tussle with Jimmy Iovine
Facts, don’t think animal ambition even cleared 100k first week lol
That’s when he knew it was time to pivot after all the years of s*** talking numbers
Lmao that Drake X PND album is getting shelved by UMG now because of these lawsuits
bet
Or unless Drizzy releases it on Bandcamp :mariolaptop:
Like you gotta be delulu if you think UMG is gonna let him sell that high, and if they do, He's going to get the raft from UMG/Lucy by opening back up these cases his homies got.
We were so used to him dominating for so long that him being a regular level rapper now is super confusing for a lot of people
And neither was MJ
Yeah his image wasn't completely f***ed, but it came damn near close
i think y’all view it as black or white when it’s not
he’s not finished but you can’t lie and say he hasn’t been on a slowww decline and the beef and all of 2024 have been a big and abrupt hit to it
Kanye’s last album with a label backing him did 327K
This is cope but ok lol
He had radio play and playlisting with both albums
You acting like he was blackballed
50 was never the same after his tussle with Jimmy Iovine
THIS IS TRUE!!!!
and funny enough this happened around the time when Ye and Fif had that sales battle.
He gotta stop calling himself a “gangster” and trying to make those tough guy songs. Kendrick and Pusha exposed him
I wish Drake would make short albums instead of bloating it with fillers and mids just to boost up sales
I genuinely think he would have people liking him again if he dropped 8-12 tracks album that's all about quality and bangers
I’m not one of those people that automatically associate album length directly with quality but I do think in his case he needs to trim down the fat to a degree. I think even a 15-16 song album would work with him since he has a diverse style. I had a long write up awhile back after the beef ended about what I’d like to see from him but he very easily could just say f*** all this and continue to do what he’s doin unfortunately

Just my opinion as a fan of his music and tends to view him from a glass half full lens. Dude is undeniable at making music he just needs to readjust his focus and not just coast off of his name
He gotta stop calling himself a “gangster” and trying to make those tough guy songs. Kendrick and Pusha exposed him
A vulnerable/introspective album like his prior work would be fire.
This is cope but ok lol
He had radio play and playlisting with both albums

Vultures 1 was an independent release that surprise dropped on a Saturday after a Nazi press run, and was removed from streaming like three separate times during its’ first week of release
And you’re wondering why it didn’t do 200K?
