We know why Eminem does big numbers all the time
What’s understood don’t gotta be explained
Because he’s one of the biggest and best-selling artists of all time?
I wish Drake would make short albums instead of bloating it with fillers and mids just to boost up sales
I genuinely think he would have people liking him again if he dropped 8-12 tracks album that's all about quality and bangers
An 8 track Drake album would feel weird thats not the kinda artist he is
12-15 should be his new approach going forward though
his career obviously isnt over but the reception and sales of his albums has been on the decline since 2018. there are only a couple more CLB’s and FATD’s he can drop before most of his mainstream audience just get tired of it and stop checking for him.
really for him to get back on track he needs to a project with proper focus and quality and completely unlike those two albums. but its hard to see it happening with his severely focus grouped approach that he has to track lists now.
if he continues on this path he will still always be able to put up decent numbers like eminem or kanye because of his fanbase, but he will definitely fade out of the mainstream.
Eminem does numbers higher than that and he most definitely fits the “legacy act” category does he not
Eminem is an outlier lol
Most hiphop legacy acts doing in between nas and vultures type numbers nowadays
Do you think Drake going to reach the same commercial success he has been having after this UMG lawsuit?
@op
if he makes good music this will all be forgotten
Seems like a hard task for him
Legacy acts ain’t selling 200-300k first week in hiphop outside of Em lol
Kanye a legacy act and he didn’t touch them numbers
Kanye flew too close to the controversial sun but Donda did 300k methinks
if he makes good music this will all be forgotten
that " if" is bigger than Dave Blunts
Can’t do anymore tough talk
yeah i can spin his introspective melodic pop/R&B stuff but the Red Buttons and Diplomatic Immunities are out of the wheelhouse for me @ this stage
dude went out sad, im huge on separating art from artist but he got embarrassed on a grand stage so it’s been difficult to take the music serious
Do you think Drake going to reach the same commercial success he has been having after this UMG lawsuit?
@op
Lmao that Drake X PND album is getting shelved by UMG now because of these lawsuits
bet
Or unless Drizzy releases it on Bandcamp :mariolaptop:
He’s a big enough artist and drops infrequently enough to where I think 200K+ is guaranteed for any time he decides to drop an album
ight, guess we’ll have to circle back to this one day
If he goes crazy with physicals I could see it but I feel like his next album is gonna be a surprise drop
Can’t do anymore tough talk
Hes like pretty clearly gonna do more tough talk lol, he aint letting this s*** go
Do you think Drake going to reach the same commercial success he has been having after this UMG lawsuit?
@op
Drake stans are hilarious. They think UMG was throttling the success of his recent music, and now after filing a motion to sue them they think his next album is gonna do numbers?
If UMG had the power to block his success, why would they not continue to do that after these lawsuits against them?
I get people saying he should just move on and act like the beef never happened but nothing about Drake says that’s realistic lol
That nigga need his lick back
