I feel like this quote is going to age well. Dune is proving this correct especially because most people wish Part Two was longer.
And I’m sure people hope Messiah is a long film

And Oppenheimer basically made a billi

We might be entering a new era of cinema where audiences will be much more likely to show up for these big event 3 hour films

Messiah’s a much shorter book and part of me thinks he’s either got to add a lot of s*** in or also adapt Children of Dune in the same film

Yea of course. But I meant the demand will rise for 3 hour epics with the quality of Dune and Oppenheimer

Just like how in the 2010s the demand was superhero films , maybe the new gen of cinema audiences will really show up to the theater for these type of movies

I feel like this movie is one great scene, cut, next. Another great scene, cut, next. Another great scene... I get it, it all makes more sense if you read the book. But, for me, as someone who hasn't read the books, I felt like I was being bombarded with completely new information every 10 min or so. It wasn't hard for me to follow because the significance of the famous actors behind these roles implied how important they were based on how they were typecast in past movies. But, if I didn't have that information I think I wouldn't have enjoyed this at all. The character development and pacing, particularly with Paul and Jessica felt so rushed and Disney movie perfect, no conflicts, no big setbacks, all it needed was some musical song in the background about how you to can make it if you just believe in yourself or some BS like that and Stilgar is the perfect supportive side character comedic relief and everything.

I wish this movie had more dialogue or indirect narration by Irulan to help carry the story along, for those of us like me. I understand that Villeneuve said big screen movies shouldn't be about dialogue but I feel like it was a disservice to skip over Herbert's beautiful prose, because the few things that were being said gave me more goosebumps than any of the visuals. I think Part Two as a whole is okay but there is so much going on, it's expecting viewers to be far more familiar with the lore than Part One. 7.5/10

    damn I feel u tbh

i agree the casting was weird. felt like the casting director just looked for biggest names possible for a lot these roles. no one does poorly or is miscasted, but sometimes theyre head scatchers

Which creates a funny juxtaposition after you see the average length of songs nowadays

It's the only type of films get me to go Cinema now. Before Oppenhiemer I had not been since The Batman. I will def be watching Dune 2 again before it leaves cinemas now.

The Pressue/Compeitition on people's free times is larger then ever. I am not going cinema to watch a random mid film, and Marvel spitting out a superheor franchise that gets masses to the cinema is over.

Its big tent, longer film and they need to quicky move to Imax everywhere. With OLED TV + dolby Surround Sound no one wants to leave home and watch a film on some crappy 35mm film projector screen with weak audio, to justify taking the time out for Cinema the experience needs to be A+. People rather pay more for a good experience that justifies going to a Cinema.

The low budget Cinema film era is over - put that s*** on streaming. No ones taking out 1.30hr without factoring commute or trailers to sit in a cinema or as a "date" anymore

I was genuinely asking in a way if the book avoided violence, s***, gore to this degree and reading it did . I haven't read the book have the book series so much as the Jodorowsky series
