Good point, fair point.
I do really think the Barbieheimer/Summer boost can’t be overstated enough though.
Super happy both films have done well regardless.
Yeah the Barbenheimer wave really shot Oppenheimer into the stratosphere. It was always gonna do numbers of the strength of Nolan's brand but the meme was lightning in a bottle...until the Hollywood execs tried it again with Saw Patrol
81 mil ain’t enough, just got my third ticket for next week
second ticket secured for next week
I’m curious, are you saying Spiderverse is a kids film because it’s an animated film or because it’s a superhero film ?
I’ve always felt like the writers did a good job making the movies appealing to young adults as well, it touches on some mature topics. And I feel like people in their 20s talk about Spiderverse more than kids do lol
Idk the vibe (because the protagonist is a kid) mixed with it being animated and a superhero movie just kinda just felt like it was geared towards kids. And I know kids love it (I’m a teacher). But yeah, it’s for sure got universal themes as well
I watched part one but I can't remember it too well. Is there a good recap vid before watching part two next week
Bro you still haven’t even seen part two
When I say either series I’m referring to what I’ve seen so far ….
Nah Steelbooks are fire. Can’t wait to add this to the collection.
kinda wish that steelbook had a different cover ngl
I have been completely out on super hero movies for like a decade, but the spider verse stuff is amazing to me from a visual standpoint because of the animations. I will agree that the story isn’t anything super memorable to me though. Solid for a kids film.
Oh yeah visual and animation it’s everything . Story I just am mixed on its for some dynamic elements dope for kids and younger generation . It’s not hate im just in a different headspace . I have a comic artist friend and im always astounded by his work ethic
Seeing as Oppenheimer was rated R, would it be fair to make this comparison
No lol . I wish dune was r rated but I know money is money

yeah, that animation and music driving the pace made those movies absolutely incredible sensory feats. Can't believe I didn't see the first one in theaters.
Saw it again
This movie is everything you could ever ask for from a blockbuster. And it nails what the story is about.
See it in IMAX. It’s a big difference from regular theater
kinda wish that steelbook had a different cover ngl
What would you put on it
What would you put on it
paul and chani
or
the side view of paul riding the sandworm
Bro you still haven’t even seen part two
Nigga said “I don’t click with either series” without even watching the series
He’s stopping after Messiah right? Y’all think that’s a good stopping point? I know there’s like 20+ books in the series
