OG dune was hard, didn't really understand the hate too much, but I'm a David lynch fan that didn't read the books. Felt like a really interesting take on a space opera with a decidedly different aesthetic and tone to its close peers like star wars, I loved the slower pacing and the fadeins/outs. Reminded me of an older anime a lot too, like galactic heroes or something.
Needless to say I'm hype as s***, Denis murdered the OG blade runner with his entry so I'm intrigued to see what's going on here
Man, I feel bad for Denis and crew.
HBO Max f***ing them over massively
Imagine putting your time and effort into a production of this scale and size, to just be put on streaming platforms almost immediately

I liked it’s weirdness but that’s just David Lynch

denis played the trump card by sayin this movie would flop without theaters so he got thru on this
but honestly, i wont be surprised if he cut his ties with WB after this film. Theres a good chance they wont make a part 2 and hes been p pissed as well about how HBO Max jus threw all their directors under the bus and decided to stream their movies without asking them
Will be seeing in IMAX the very first chance I get
Wait what
We are never getting a part 2 lol
Wait what
Huh
We are never getting a part 2 lol
in 35 years, a new director can make the sequel like how Denis did for Blade Runner

We just need 1 good Dune movie to start with lol
Seems like the movie Dune is cursed for some reason.
David Lynch version getting shifted on
jodorowsky version being scrapped
And now all this back and forth with Villeneuve’s version

Same day releases not an excuse anymore for poor performance they already proved they could succeed multiple times in box office despite it. I can see why this wouldn't be an exception
It'll be in theaters on release and the people who want to pay to watch it will be there. Disappointment happens during a global pandemic but you gotta make the best of it and they'll likely be working in a much better scenario than others.
Has a festival premier which should boost hype weeks in advance for people to go see alongside the promo campaign
really cool edit, rammstein’s stuff always feels fresh

^^ their whole sound would go really well with dune too
