I meant here as in the country me and rwina live in
I always have this dilemma with movies based on books where I wonder if I should read the book or movie first.
Still think I'd rather go into this movie completely blind rather than read it now.

Movie first, book second imo
some book readers get too caught up in comparing and forget to appreciate or judge something as it is
Netherlands
at least in Germany I know of like 3 dads of friends who are big fans of the film lol, and my dad had seen it too (tho not a fan). It's very 80s, so a lot of ppl who are nostalgic about that time love it, which doesn't just include the older generation nowadays.. but in the case of Dune it's mostly the older generation I think lol
reminder that this brilliant 3h fanedit exists which fixes a lot of the problems with Lynch's film and makes it much more convincing and psychedelic imo

They didnt show the teaser at my Tenet Imax screening, cocksuckers! Nobody seen it yet or why is it so quiet here? Dont wanna watch a low quality leak... but it's only three more days till trailer anyway
Well I guess I can share my thoughts on the teaser since I saw it during my Tenet screening:
It seems denis’ sense of slow pacing is being retained here because it does let a scene play out that’s feels as patient as BR2049 did. However, the lack of Deakins really shows here. The shots shown in the teaser don’t come even close to Denis previous works. I think it will probably still look good but it’s a massive step down from the days of Prisoners/Enemy/Sicario/BR2049
All in all, teaser pretty much tells me about those things and not much else. Hopefully the trailer does a more convincing job for its cinematography because so far the official stills and teaser haven’t interested me at all on that side of the filmmaking

I just saw it at my local cinema (didn’t show it at any cineworld / IMAX screenings)
S*** is f***ing glorious

Bummer to hear this because a big part of why the slow burn in BR2049 worked so well for me was because the cinematography was some of the best i have ever seen. Every shot was like a painting which made it rewarding to have a lot of drawn out shots
I'm still hopeful for Dune though, Villeneuve hasn't missed yet!
