TheoryGot a paywall so I can’t read the whole thing, but I’ll agree that Biden didn’t clarify the down payment thing when campaigning. And I think it’s good to hold him accountable so at the end of the day, not mad at it. Maybe the backlash will even make them increase it (not likely though).
I just remember them saying it would be a down payment from the start, so when I heard them saying $2000 checks I knew what they were talking about.
The messaging is deceptive though, I can agree on that.

The reconciliation process is approved so it’s gonna be in the next few weeks. Each house is allowed a certain hours of debate they can’t waive so idk how long the republicans can drag it out for but def in the next month

Pelosi stated that the aim is to have the bill on Biden's desk by March 14, when the recent coronavirus aid and unemployment assistance expires. So that means checks out by the end of March...if things go according to plan.

Adult dependents don’t get 2000 so it’s not 2000 for real
I believe eligible adult dependents are getting money on this round of checks though...if your parents don't pocket that s***, lol. Don't know the specific details but I remember reading an article saying parents with "college-age students" would receive more money.

Are you sure? The only actual bill I've seen is the one that replaces $600 with $2k in the prior bill. Is the actual bill theyre going to pass written yet?
