Its def worth it imo its a slow game but it has a lot to offer
Its a bit hard to recommend the 2nd one to someone who hasnt played the 1st imo cause i feel the game would be really confusing

If i can recommend something this may be a bit specific but play the directors cut version of ds1 and make sure u do the missions that take you to an abandonned factory in the first few chapters of the game, they added some items that make the early game a lot more tolerable
