That looks very.....Phantom of the Opera. Or like Vanilla Sky
A lot of people for years were insistent on splitting the idea of Clayface into you can either do mud monster OR grounded, Phantom-inspired character and this seems like it will cover all of those bases in one go. Especially considering the budget and lower scale of the film. Never understood why fans argued this character in that way. Like DCU isn't even approaching this like fans presumed over the years
I wish this convo wasn't as prevalent as it has been but this deadass does feel like how Reeves would introduce a Clayface
Tbf he is a part of this

I’m still convinced this whole clayface pitch comes from some kind of early draft of The Batman 2 or something. We first heard clayface rumors about that movie way before it became its own thing

Yeah you're right. As far back as late 2022 we heard Reeves was potentially fielding pitches for villains including Clayface, then early 2023 heard he might be in Batman 2 and that Flanagan had a Clayface pitch that was potentially being produced by Reeves. Flanagan only seems like he wanted to do a standalone so he prob doesn't care about DCU or Reevesverse.
I think another rumor a couple months ago suggested this was initially Crime Saga but turned into DCU. The trail of rumors for this for years was pretty solid.
from a Oct 2022 in an article about Gunn and the Rock (this is pre-DC Studios btw):
The filmmaker is meeting with writers and directors to build out movies — yes movies, not just series — focused on Batman rogue’s gallery, both established and more obscure, with characters ranging from the Scarecrow to Clayface to Professor Pyg. All those projects are in the very early stages of gestation.

Some of ya bout to eat ur words about the DCU Slate when Supergirl and Clayface both classic
Battinson has finally decided to start being involved with charity work, so he’s working with Mayor Real to fund new homes for people who were displaced by the Riddler floods
This is just a modern Gotham Renewal Project
Probably led by Bella Real
Taking this all with a grain of salt but this is getting fun to play with the more we see. So why not just theorize?? I saw a page try to use this as a denial because it was "Regeneration" instead of "Renewal".... as if Renewal wasn't just an old project from 20-25 years prior lol
If we take The Penguin, all of those homes Vic's family lived in were damn near destroyed. It'd make sense Gotham needs a new housing project.
Led by Mayor Real politically maybe, but Bruce Wayne funding. She pleaded with him to work together on philanthropy projects at the funeral

It's all coming together

renewal just has a terrible connotation in gotham now too i'd imagine
And his name is Andy Muschietti
The brave and the bold is the most cancelled movie of all time
