Was Thanos teased and set up in Ant-Man?
Antman shows up in endgame and the quantum realm played a part did it not ?

By this logic, Creature Commandos set up and teased Superman since Rick Flag is in it

Eh not the same. And CC did actually tease superman and batman and others.
But im specifically talking about a big bad , an overarching narrative that spans multiple movie.
The quantum realm in antman was pivotal to beating Thanos in endgame was it not? Thats the reason that movie was even developed if im not mistaken
But honestly ill give antman 1, iron man 3 and gotg 2 a pass. But still mostly all of phase 2 and phase 3 was a set up for the final 2 movies, characters and plot wise

You’re thinking about the sequel. The first Ant Man had basically nothing to do with the Quantum Realm.
Idk what else to tell you if you don’t think there will be a big bad teased and built up in this universe. It’s shared universe 101, general audiences do not like when their shared universe is not sharing

Just because a character appears in a later film that does not make the entire film set up. Will all of Clayface be set up if he appears in a Batman film later on?

Normally I would agree but its the MCU. They strategically planned these movies out for that to be the case. Which is why every titular character of the movies ended up in IW and Endgame
If clayface plays a major character in a batman or whatever movie then yeah the clayface movie built up to it.
But like I said im strictly talking about an overarching narrative where the majority of the movies release are building up to it. I dont think thats what the DCU wants to do and clayface and Sgt rock are examples of the such.
Theres gonna be event level movies where multiple projects build up to it but not every project will need to have an involvement with that event just like how events work in comics.
Oh they’re getting TALENT
Why is Reeves so heavily involved in this if it's not connected to his universe?

We’re not allowed to ask that

This the only time I’ll concede it’s kinda fishy

nah yeah this and how he's producing a couple of other things just keeps the door slightly open for me, which is why I don't count out the merge until there's a DCU Batman movie

My preference is still no but I guess we’ll know more in the next few months prob

Matt currently has a lead production credit on every Batman-related release that has a date right now.
There were rumors in late 2022 Matt was fielding pitches for Crime Saga villain films/shows including potentially Clayface so I think he's the one that accepted Flanagan's long-pitched story and worked with him as it was being written.
This was fully an Epic Crime Saga thing before it went to DCU (for reasons we don't exactly know). Seems like regardless its a project Matt likes and is committed to.
This not only sounds like a Reevesverse project but it also feels like Reeves castings. Ackie was just in Zoe Kravitz's film which Matt obviously saw and did the Directors on Directors interview with Zoe for last year....AND she was Pattinson's co-lead in Mickey17.
And then we already know Gunn said he helped cast Harries.
I really do wonder what's that immediate separation going to be that helps fans understand which Batman-related project belongs to which universe? It needs to be clear without having to explain to fans each year or else there will be drop offs
They have The Batman, The Penguin, Clayface and The Batman Part II. To any casual these all appear to have overlaps
