it's cool thanks.
i was just tripping thinking it glitched out.
First boss done. Was piss easy
Haha yeah bosses generally arent the biggest challenge in this one its more so navigating the areas and the normal enemy encounters , very different but fun stuff imo
I was just running through my old Dark Souls save and "beat it". I could do the DLC but I have before.
Instead I think I'm going to play Dark Souls 2 for the first time ever.
I have played literally every other Souls game except 2.
Time to form my own™ opinion
I’m in a similar boat. I haven’t played Dark Souls 2 (and Demon’s Souls if that counts) but I have played the other Souls games. I do have Dark Souls 2 and the Demon’s Souls remake on my PS5 but I am not in the mood for the Souls-like pain and suffering right now
Dark Souls 2 is better than DS1 imo
I like DS2 a lot. At first I was eh about it but it grows on you
It’s hard for me to play DS1 after playing DS2. It’s so many options and variety. It’s so unique.
I just couldn’t stand the wonky hit boxes & some of the base game boss fights, and poison statues (Jesus).
So i started DS2, and I swear to god I picked up a torch right at the beginning, but it's no where to be found in my inventory. Then all these torch spots kept popping up during the tutorial area.
Otherwise, the vibes are cute, I just got to Majula. Still very early. The torch thing is annoying though.
That intro cinematic was very well made too.
Edit: ok i get the torch now. Weird change.

Path traced DS2 is crazy if you can run it. Tried it out last week and it’s incredible, Majula looks ridiculous
Just had my first invasion. Got stabbed from 5 feet away because the netcode is trash.
Couldnt even properly dodge because i was getting hit by phantom hitboxes.

I'll try. Im on a 3080 12gb so raytracing ways been kinda heavy on my system. The game is old though.

A 3080 should be good enough for 60fps at 1440p, it’s not super heavy. My 5080 runs 60% utilization at 4k 60fps
The mod brings it way closer to the original DS2 vision imo. You can get some really incredible looking lighting
The Last Bastille some f*** s*** but I cleared that area finally. Died so many times to that little gap shortcut towards the boss.

I have only played most of DS2 (never finished) and finished Bloodborne, got to Rom on my second playthrough. I own DS Remastered, DS3, Sekiro but I haven't played them yet
I've decided I'm never playing the Demon's Souls remake. Idgaf if people say the mechanic isn't as harsh as it sounds, that s*** of your max health being limited after dying doesn't sound appealing at all
These bosses have pretty basic attack patterns so far.
Highkey doesn’t get any better until the DLCs from what I remember

Dont spoil how to get it to the dlc, but is it a convuluted mess to access?

I watched all three Lord of The Rings movies this week and you can see how inspired these games are from it.
It gave me the itch to play again.
I'm hoping Duskbloods is fun.

Man, thanks for reminding me to watch LotR. I’ve only seen a few short parts when I was younger but I always wanted to get into them.
The Duskbloods looks so nice. I hope the multiplayer focus that got everyone worried turns out to be a non-issue and that it’s a really cool game with that Dark Souls/Bloodborne atmosphere.

From I remember, it was a bit of hassle to find the locations. Because they required extra steps & certain things lol
Damn I haven’t played a Dark Souls game since 2019
Might be time to finally finish Dark Souls 1 this year

That DLC is 100% worth it if you’ve never gone through
I actually got hella lost for a minute.
I got soft locked because I don't upgrade HP.
You have to drop down some hole but I kept dying.
edit: overall though, other than some bullshitery, this is probably the easiest Souls game. I think I'm halfway there. I'm pretty sure I have 2 great souls left.
I'm focking lost. This game brings you to boss rooms then the route will just end. Then i gotta go back to Majula with no direction.
Edit: nvm there was a hole in a wall smh
Edit 2: sike literally another dead end holy s***
You have to speak to some random NPC until they exhaust their dialogue options to open a new path.
This Souls is officially the WORST Souls.
I had to cheat. I would have never figured that out.

Doesn’t every Souls game have this
I know I’ve had to exhaust dialogues before in order to proceed with a quest or get some item.

Yea but the way this game works youd have no idea it was this specific npc. She's like any other shop npc.
