Does Maxwell still do ascension or dancewitme during his sets?
He did ascension when I saw him two weeks ago. Whole crowd sung it
This is probably the earliest recording we have of him performing the Voodoo tour version of Brown Sugar & the dynamic is really interesting this time around w/ the BS era backup singers:

"What was it like, playing on the D’Angelo album?
The new music is heavier and has more guitar on it. A lot of the stuff I did is on different versions of the album. I did a solo on “Ain’t That Easy,” “The Charade,” “The Prayer,” and lots of rhythm parts."
so there are versions of these songs with jesse's playing
So apparently, according to D’s longtime bm, The label took Black Messiah from him and released it prematurely … (pulling a TDE vis a vis SZA before the event even happened). I wonder what production decisions would’ve been different if D had been able to tinker with the songs till he saw fit (given he didn’t keep procrastinating as Toni said he was). It’d be nice if alt versions were included in a commemorative re-release of the record.
Damn just got en email that due to production delays they have no clue when I’ll get my Voodoo vinyl
He’s cooking yall
