It’s insane that this 25 year old gorgeous girl who’s not even 5 foot turned in one of the most intimidating, unnerving and scary on screen performances I’ve ever seen. The mixture of her artistry and Curry’s ways of capturing it was clearly some sort of next level creative chemistry. Once in a career level gold from both of them

A neat detail is that you mainly notice her height pre-wish...once the wish is granted and she becomes obsessed with Bear they start shooting her from lower angles to make it seem like she's towering over Bear and the others

The "no no no" restaurant scene does both lol when she first stands up you see her actual height but when she starts repeating no and screaming she looks like she's much taller

I think it’s pretty obvious to say Nikki is the victim here but Bear is the one in an interesting spot.

You can’t really look at him as 100% bad or good. Innocent intentions with the wish? Yes. Does things get grey? Of course. Does he showcase a villain side? Yup. Him saying “what’s so bad about being with me?!” Was f\*\*\*ed up but also showed how desperate this kid was for her. But he made the right choice by offing himself instead. Would’ve been crazy if he took the easy way out by killing Nikki

  • Also Nikki hooking up with the friend was such a good twist, I figured that’s what was coming when Sarah said “oh I never told you something about Ethan….” And then the dad interrupts

  • ohboy, finally saw it, what a wild ride
loved how you never knew what the tone was gonna be from scene to scene

The more I think about it, the more I don't really buy that he'd say that line in that moment. Felt like the writer wanted to nail that point home, but I think it was past that point where that reaction makes sense. The scene of him f***ing her already demonstrated the selfishness of the character pretty well.

plus he tries to back out of killing himself too lol Nikki making her own wish unintentionally kills him because he would have finished coughing up the pills otherwise

this was so awesome to see with a lively crowd who'd talk and react to to the film. an audience really doesn't need to be quiet for all films.

yeah, really smart writing, there's no way that guy would have the balls to go through with killing himself

  • Nikki smashing Sarah's head on the steering wheel felt like something out of Terrifier, loved how sudden and unrealistic it was, really added to the comedy. It's true what they say, comedy and horror are built on similar engines, makes sense that these great horror directors often come from a comedy background.

it’s not actually a monkeys paw wish . As we saw man in the shop used his wish and he was fine . It failed for Ian because he got so hyped about getting money so fast that he ran back to bear . Entirely forgetting bear was going through it

He did waste it because he was sarcastic with his wish and didn’t say live to use it or anything

I agree on this made it great for first watch . I hate crowds that are quiet when the movie ask for a reaction

do agree there is a gap where we see him want to alter the wish to him even after all the crazy stuff she has done still want to use her body . The quick romance montage was enough for him still not to be satiated .
