Sooo many options! Don't know if I'm going to pull the trigger though
Samer here! I moved back to the city and need a brand new huge shelf(s) for my room. I've been eBaying it a bunch the last few weeks.... no luck yet. Y'all got any suggestions?
Floyd shelving is nice although it can get expensive. I’m sure there’s used options too. Vitsoe is also really nice.
Decent modern shelving is pretty easy to find nowadays though. If that’s what you’re looking for

Bro I’m impressed that you own that many movies. With the ones that’s sticking or of the directors, what’s on em? Is it like a documentary of them or has a collection of they movies?

I just space out each directors section with a custom portrait on a blank dvd case lol. Some of them have liner notes and s*** stashed in them from respective box sets or whatever but they're mostly empty.

Oh nice it’s like a binder divider type thing to organize. Very dope.
Lol I’m sorta the same way except I mostly have a digital collection on Vudu. But have been starting to buy the classics on blu ray.
gaumont have restored les bas-fonds by renoir on blu. one of my fave renoirs. since criterion were quick to port gaumont's resto of toni they might do it with bas-fonds too
Stop doing this s*** criterion !!
https://twitter.com/marcelojpico/status/1373657900405624835its not them its the creators/directors most the time.
some of these home releases esp for Asian films were not under control from the director. so when they finally get their hands on it for a big restoration with companies like Criterion they set the color tints to how they wanted it to be, which is sometimes different to how fans were used to and fell in love with. Just like in the comments there was a different tint on the French blu ray so a lot of inconsistency before the directors even have a say
same thing for WKW and Doyle for most of the films in their set (outside of Fallen Angels). Sucks cus it isn't how you remember on old versions but its bound to happen when you let some of these creators re-touch their own work

let's not take away everybody's new excuse for piling on Criterion
Yea I don’t understand this controversy over a director making the slightest edits to their own work.. Kanye influence too strong lol

idk too many remasters last few years have gone overboard with the matrix style color grading. obv bong joon ho and criterion arent going to abuse it but really doubt a lot of these changes to past editions are what they originally had in mind
edit: aaaaaand eating my words lol criterion changes look just like past release
