MoYeah the cinematography is incredible. Film definitely set a lot of things. Especially the outdoor/nature cinematography. And just the general type of adventure story. I guess it just felt like it was lacking a bit in the character department. It does transition rather quickly to the survival part of the story. And yeah it conveys the feeling of endurance and the desperate fight for survival but it sometimes feels like there's something missing. Obviously on purpose but s***s exhausting lol.
Tatyana Samoylova is such a Queen tho.
Have you seen The Cranes are Flying, also by Kalatozov?
"The Cranes are Flying" is absolutely stunning, that was the first Kalatozov film I saw. Then I quickly went back I purchased "I am Cuba". ALSO I agree with your statement that Samoylova is a queen!

Unfortunately I didn't get many CC films during the B&N sale this year but I did get ahold of Cassavetes "Love Streams".

These Monterey Pop festival cds are some of the most fascinating live shows documented.
Love the pure energy existing at that moment. Not a phone in sight just all ears <3 lol can't do that today

They upload, take down and reupload the movies they have their category. Their entire catalogue isn’t all there at the same time - it moves around.
