Palestinian OoziI’m going to keep saying this. Within hip hop culture, it’s disingenuous and hypocritical to take such an adamant stance on this and then simultaneously not have any moral urgency on the overwhelming content that should be deemed as wrong. If we’re talking right or wrong, it doesn’t make sense. Hip-Hop is very brash and offensive by nature. I’m not going to say how dare dababy say this, when I haven’t taken any stance on him having a lot of lyrics that if you apply the same logic to, you should have equal outrage. S*** is dumb lol.
but then you have the same people saying “dua lipa / elton john have no right to comment on black culture / hip hop because they’re white”
you can’t play that card whenever you want, do you want these white artists to start condemning black artists for their art and speaking about their environment? I don’t think so. God forbid they find his comments offensive about a community they’re welcomed in and take a full stand on and y’all try jumping through 30 hurdles to make it seem okay.

ImDrinkingCaipiI mean.. I hear you but those guys ARE limited by their content. that’s a fact. and I don’t mean abstractly. there are places they can’t perform and they’re being constantly watched and investigated by police forces and probably the FBI.
not to mention the thinkpieces. i’ve read at least three personally. so it’s not like ppl just don’t care about what those guys are doing and saying on records. it’s a big deal that places caps on their success and viability as recording artists.
Rap has become the biggest genre in the country if not the world despite that, so outside of a few individuals not being able to perform in some venues due to liabilities isnt a real point
Also the think pieces dont matter as they arent for the core of rap but the outsiders who find the genre enjoyable but impenetrable.
People have been writing thinkpieces about rappers being homophobic and misogynistic for decades now and they havent changed s*** 🤷🏿♂️
