I'm sad that this got unstickied, but I'm also thankful that it got stickied in the first place. We are a big community, and all the information that was shared here might have saved some users' or lurkers' lives.

Get vaccinated if you haven't already and encourage people around you to do the same. The data shows that the updated boosters protect against the newer variants. The dose is only 30ul which is the volume of a raindrop and yet that tiny drop is enough to save someone's life.

I will be forever thankful for all the healthcare workers, organizers, scientists, and policymakers who are at the forefront of this battle and sacrificed so much so we can return to some normalcy.

Food poisioning? I never tested or isolated but I just got one bout of fever for one day & constipation for 4 days only (I personally never vomit ever doesn't matter what happens to me, drunk, sick, w/e), had hard mornings with a stomach feeling like death but got myself out and about by 12:00pm

Edit: wait you tested lol. I thought everyone had symptoms longer than 2 days if symptomatic

    fda.gov/vaccines-blood-biologics/safety-availability-biologics/cdc-and-fda-identify-preliminary-covid-19-vaccine-safety-signal-persons-aged-65-years-and-older

This is based on people over 65 self-reporting using that VAERS system, where you get text messages from the CDC after you received the vaccine. That system is highly subjective because not everyone is participating so it might be skewed towards people who are more likely to complain or malinger. According to the FDA, there is nothing to worry about for people below that age and the current vaccine advisory remains in place.

I still agree with CDC and FDA that it should be monitored to see if there is some truth to it and maybe switch to Moderna. Either way it's not the active ingredient, mRNA, that is causing adverse effects. It's the inactive ingredients and that's a problem in all vaccines.

My loudly and proudly unvaccinated friend died today from complications of COVID. We’ve well and truly lost this war and we’ve f***ed a generation’s worth of medical advancement by failing to communicate the nuances of vaccines and allowing anti-vax sentiment to fester. I f***ing hate what we’ve become.
