Opinions or experiences on the astrazeneca vaccine please. Most people I know are hesitant to do this. (My country's government only provides this particular vaccine for my age group at the moment)

Surprisingly North Dakota in the top 3 as far as doses used

yeah prolly, maga individuals that also share anti-vax beliefs or anti-govt beliefs do occasionally have lapses where those ideals clash

happened when Trump tried pushing the 2000 at the very last second. some ppl sided with him, some sided with mitch. as much as it seems, they don't always act as a monolith

I was in the same headspace 3 weeks after this post. It was 2 days before I was supposed to go to a concert that I really started falling down the rabbit hole of info surrounding the virus and I couldn't think about anything else.

The next day, I went to my favorite bar and sat there for a lot of the night feeling vulnerable. I had the vibe that was going to be one of the last times I ever went there, and sure enough, the next time was it. They never reopened.

I went to that concert without a mask and I was very fortunate that the spread in Los Angeles wasn't very prolific in late February. I remember sitting on the train on the way there with my jacket partially covering my face because I didn't have anything else. The next time I used the train a couple weeks later to go to a job interview, many people had masks on and I was in a highly constrictive N95. Compared to that, fabric face masks are so light.

It's remarkable how quickly everything changed. For me, the glass broke in literally a few hours and I couldn't see life the same again after that. I started getting food together not long after and eventually my wife got on the same wavelength where she started getting scared too. Fear led the way by about a month before things started getting bad, but by then the virus was already here.

I'm going to a bar this weekend with a friend now that we're fully vaccinated. Gonna try not to let paranoia and old habits get the best of me while I'm there and have fun, but it's tough not to reflect on what circumstances were like and what they are like elsewhere in the world. I feel like we could be right back there again with a different virus before we know it.
