I work at a tech company and they are starting the process today as well. You catch the Axe?

wondering why tech companies would be involved in this. seems like these are the types of industries that’d go unscathed in these times

we are in lockdown since around the 18th of march.

Cinemas and gyms are not opening but i could see gyms opening soon because they say they are prepared. We will see.

But it’s like everyday we open more and more.

Dope, been since 13 march and hopefully we'll open up likewise in same period. Just need the gym to open up again tbh

Tech companies often rely upon are contracted work from other companies, such as airlines, banks, insurance, governments, and colleges.

When there isn't as much work to do, the contracts aren't extended/or they are cancelled.

Tech is safe depending upon what you do within tech, but everyone is dealing with these current circumstances.

    really depends but yeah

Lotta times a tech company has a major contract with (for example) MasterCard and Delta, but MasterCard and Delta might not need the precious infrastructure at this moment.

Trump’s ‘Operation Warp Speed’ Aims to Rush Coronavirus Vaccine

The Trump administration is organizing a Manhattan Project-style effort to drastically cut the time needed to develop a coronavirus vaccine, with a goal of making enough doses for most Americans by year’s end.

Called “Operation Warp Speed,” the program will pull together private pharmaceutical companies, government agencies and the military to try to cut the development time for a vaccine by as much as eight months, according to two people familiar with the matter.

As part of the arrangement, taxpayers will shoulder much of the financial risk that vaccine candidates may fail, instead of d*** companies.

The project’s goal is to have 300 million doses of vaccine available by January, according to one administration official. There is no precedent for such rapid development of a vaccine.

    dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8273607/Top-COVID-19-model-predicts-100-000-dead-end-summer.html

Top coronavirus model predicts 100,000 Americans dead by the end of this summer's first wave - as death toll passes Trump's best case scenario of 60,000 dead

The MOBS model from the Network Science Institute at Northeastern University predicts that 100,000 Americans will have died from COVID-19 by the end of summer

It also estimates that there will be about 89,000 deaths by mid-May if stay-at-home orders remain in place

That death toll would increase to over one million in an unmitigated scenario, according to the projections that are among those used by the CDC to forecast the pandemic

thats why i aint taking that s***
im not in a risk group so the potential for harm here seems bigger than with corona for me tbh
the whole world will be taking this, and there are some f***ed up people in power prolly just waiting to exploit that opportunity
they can just f*** it up to make bank, and if a lot of people end up getting f***ed theyll just be bailed out by the government
