If you take a NEW dose of the oral polio vaccine, the innate immunity you gain for a couple months will protect you from a variety of RNA viruses including the flu and, we hope, the novel coronavirus. That immunity fades pretty quickly, but long enough to buy the world some time.
At least, that's the idea.

Why can’t they just ramp up testing and have the people who test positive stay in quarantine, while letting those who test negative live normally?
Not enough tests/infrastructure?
With the people i see going to these “protests”, i highly doubt we could trust people who test positive but present asymptotic to be responsible and stay 2 weeks at home while they watch all the snaps/stories of other people going out and enjoying themselves

realistically, why cant we just prepare to lock everyone in for 2 weeks?
like, give everybody a week to stock up on everything, and then EVERYONE gets locked in (except cops, doctors, etc)
then after lockdown keep testing and isolating these people
