There's so many things wrong with this I don't even know where to start.

That age demographic hospitalization stat annoyed the s*** out of me when I first saw it because the "young people" range is so comically large. They expanded the damn thing 31 years to get a relevant data point out of it. The numbers from 18-33 were likely negligible, but adding in another 16 years balances the demographics out.

So when the stat is used in here to scare 18 and 20 year olds, they're being bunched in with 49 year olds, as if they have anything in common physically. Almost certainly the numbers accelerate heavily toward the latter end of the age demographic and are more sparse toward the front.

If I'm wrong on this and there's a statistic that shows the rate of hospitalization is the same at 25 as 45, I'll take my L. But I don't think that exists.
