You clearly don’t understand the difference between the demographic inside the hospital and % of positive cases that end up hospitalized so it’s really pointless to continue this conversation

you keep saying that but none of the data you've ever posted has anything to do with demographic data outside of the diagnosed cases lol. all of the data has to do with diagnosed covid cases and their hospitalizations.

now you're going to switch up your entire argument you were so proud of?

no s*** if you slice the USA POPULATION into age buckets as the denominator is going to have a small % of hospital visits relative to the USA's overall population. holy s*** if that's now your argument lol

at that time i said 1 in 5 hospitalizations were younger people which turned out to be true.

you turned out to be wrong there too with some table you didn't properly read.

you post this data from the study yet it has nothing to do with the actual demographic data, and these numbers represent a positive numeric testing rate normalized at a per 100,000 population

in the same article if you scroll down literally just 1 more sentence we find the actual data you're misrepresenting, or simply can't wrap your head around to understand

Among the 1,482 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19–associated hospitalizations reported through COVID-NET, six (0.4%) each were patients aged 0–4 years and 5–17 years, 366 (24.7%) were aged 18–49 years, 461 (31.1%) were aged 50–64 years, and 643 (43.4%) were aged ≥65 years.

So look at that, over 25% of hospitalizations were aged 0-49 years old and considered "young"

the red is what you tried to cite and sound smart (incorrect)

a SENTENCE after is the actual demographic data from the study that i cited correctly (in blue!)

Wtf are you talking about? You said 2 weeks ago that 1 in 5 positive cases have to go to the hospital. Which I found misleading, so I posted that chart which showed about 10% of young people with positive cases have to go to the hospital. You freaked out etc etc

Flash forward to now and you’re talking about the demographic of patients already in the hospital. Why??

add it up

652 + 15,202 + 12,652 + 4,312 + 3,309 = 36,127 TOTAL CASES

now for hospitalizations!

67 + 1,459 + 2,765 + 1,499 + 1,620 = 7,410 TOTAL HOSPITALIZATIONS

7,410 / 36,127 = 20%! TOTAL EXACTLY
20% is what? 1 in 5

OK. NOW REMOVE THE OLD PEOPLE

67 + 1,459 + 2,765 = 4,291

4,291 / 36,127 = 11.8%!

we did this exact exercise last time too

everyone knows it skews towards old people. "i freaked out" by showing you it was wrong to downplay the stats and that you were downplaying that so many people need hospital care.

which you still are even when 1,000s are dying now. for some reason.
