That’s always how it works with any kind of vaccine. Once the first people get it there’s a significant waiting period before it goes out to the public to make sure it’s safe. Usually they do a test on animals too first but given the circumstances they’re entirely bypassing that.

no dude that death count is massive, that's like almost a 40% mortality rate which is waaaay higher than anywhere else (at least off the top of my head)
