Right, we are taking almost the exact same trajectory that China, South Korea, and Italy have taken. I don't think we'll be able to flatten the curve as quickly as South Korea did.

The distrust of the media is because of Trump's "fake news" bullshit. The media reported on the severity of this 2 f***ing weeks ago. The headline from the WHO 2 weeks ago read "Americans should prepare for drastic changes to their daily lives as a result of community outbreak of the Coronavirus."
Trump was able to convince millions of Americans that the media was not only lying about the severity of the disease, but lying about the disease existing in general.

Man what? The vast majority of Trump supporters eat up every single word he says like it came from God himself. The media has been reporting on this virus since January and was reporting 2 weeks ago that there was an extremely high possibility of community outbreak in America and that Americans' daily lives would be heavily impacted.
The media is not at fault for Trump completely disregarding the virus itself and instead working tirelessly to discredit them at every opportunity he got. This is not a "boy who cried wolf" situation. This is an "our president actively worked against the media for his own personal interests and has put tens of millions of Americans at risk" situation.
