the "alive" really throws everything off, makes it seem like tyler had some incredibly essential effect on people in 2021

I feel like disagreement with this comes from people forgetting that 2021 is not 2020. The two years bled into each other (due to COVID)

What does that have to do with anything?

The reaction doesn’t just come off as “I don’t think it should be Tyler” but “Tyler didn’t have a presence in 2021” only to name people who had a presence in 2020. In seeing it on here and social media

    For now

    Huh 2021 is over

  • Jan 20, 2022

    Ye or carti

  • Jan 20, 2022

Tyler’s acclaim seems to be just based around there not being anything better to choose… it doesn’t feel like the album really impacted culture at all, especially compared to his past 2 projects

“Best rapper alive” is a term that’s been used in Hip Hop for ages. Everyone from Kendrick to Wayne has used it. It’s more impactful than just saying “best rapper”.
