    The 7 Day Theory

Sold 900k + in singles in a week
    Not albums

ok dumb question, what’s the difference

  • Sep 11, 2021
    RenBop

    275/300k

    That would be nuts

  • Sep 11, 2021

Album could have gone even higher if he dropped a hot single a week or two before.

  • Sep 11, 2021
    habibizthing

it’s crazy that if he’s doing 90k with 3 tracks, then 604k with 21 tracks is almost the same ratio

    630 to be exact 🤔

Can't wait to see their reactions if this is true...

Becoming the first artist to debut at #1, #2, & #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Ever.

Then in the same year, shattering your own record to debut the top #5 spots in the Hot 100 and the first to have 9/10 songs in the Top 10

He already debuted at #1-#3 this year with Scary Hours 2. This will be the second time doing it this year.

I think these are the highest first week numbers we’ve seen since the new Billboard rules took effect last fall, so Drake is setting a precedent for artists as big as him.

It’s time to adjust expectations for first week sales btw. S*** is just different now. Selling a certain amount right now isn’t the same as doing it a few years ago.

Some people don’t understand this lol

Haha nah that's what I meant, the fact he set that already this year and then shatters it with an even bigger debut.

Yeah. If the projections hold true, he'll also become the second act after the Beatles to own the entire top 5 in a single week.

    That's insane!

It's crazy to think they'll be creating headlines like this for Drizzy in 50 years...

50 Years Ago Today: The Beatles Boast Nos. 1-5 On Billboard Hot 100

I hate the “It’s less impressive because streaming” arguments they come up against Drake when he breaks records held by people like the Beatles…

If that’s the case, Why don’t other artist do what Drake drops every time they drop?

Tbh I think it's more impressive today as people actual have to play the music instead of just buying the record and maybe never listen to it back in the day

The field of competition is so much wider today as well. Artists not only have to compete against current artists but the rest of the music industry’s back catalogue that’s readily available to play
