Nolans not out here promoting gambling and putting out endless generic slop.
Nolan honestly has more in common with Kendrick than Denis in terms of his career. Been around for a while but still relatively new compared to a lot of his peers; always loved by the masses/recently got a ton of awards. Cares a lot about the craft of the art. Only puts stuff out every few years.

aglowUsing the fantastical elements to deflect criticism about historical inaccuracy is a lazy cop-out. Especially bc the Odyssey IS in fact firmly rooted in historical context.
Nosferatu, for example, is a fictional story about a mf vampire, yet that didn’t stop Eggers from delivering deeply researched, historically grounded costuming/characterization. That kind of care and passion always elevates the work, imo.
Like, if you're excited for the movie regardless, just say that. But don't act like the criticisms are entirely baseless.

I would def not say that Drake makes generation defining albums - esp in the present tense.
If you say Nolan's made 3 defining movies/masterpieces, most people have to ask which ones you mean because there's so many good movies in his filmography and there's no telling which ones you prefer.
If you say Drake made 3 generation defining albums, I think you're gonna have some convincing to do for at least 2 of those. Drake is not in it for the game and not respected by just about any of his peers. The entire industry hates the guy.

Nolan is a largely unproblematic individual who makes cool pop movies every few years. People know his name because of what he makes, not because of who he is.
This is not in the same ballpark as juggernauts like Swift or Drake who thrive off controversy, publicity stunts, and milking their art until there's nothing left. Their only real similarity is that they are successful in their fields but for very different reasons. These are lame-ass comparisons.
