    Finally saw Tenet... it was...

    Mid.

The whole concept definitely had potential, but you're fooling yourself if you think this film was AMAZING. Nowhere near Inception or Interstellar level.

The writing and storyline was a bit random and sporadic, it failed to fully engage you throughout the whole film.

Some parts were kind of corny, for example the first reverse fight scene in the hallway at the storage facility between the protagonist and himself was super corny. Like I was watching this thinking "is this supposed to be cool, this actually looks kinda dumb."

Compare that scene to the car scene on the highway when they're lifting the package, when the minivan comes driving in reverse after the protagonist, that was pretty bad ass. But its not bad ass enough to make the whole movie good.

    The climax was lukewarm.

The whole intro to the film was kind of random, and straight out of a Christopher Nolan 101 course, if there is any. Like how did this even fit with the rest of the film.

This coulda been written way better man, I could go on and on... I think COVID hitting really f***ed up this films production and potential.

    I'd give it a solid 6/10.

Easily. He set the bar up super high for himself though, still good compared to most other films out there.

TDKR is FIRE. I just saw it a couple days ago again. Not up to TDK level, but a solid 8.5/10.

his worst to me is Insomnia or Following

honestly some of those earlier films, including Batman Begins and even Memento to a degree just felt bland filmmaking wise. He did have an interesting story for Memento, but in the other 3, he mostly operated in telling very straight forward stories and had routinely ugly cinematography and very bland direction all around

As flawed and plot hole heavy as TDKR is as a story, the cinematography is excellent and the ambition is absolutely crazy in terms of the set pieces that are imagined (the opening plane sequence as well as the tanks vs Batwing being all practical still rank as some of the greatest set pieces in action film history). I'll always at the least be able to admire that film for the crazy ass s*** it tries to pull off.

Too many underwhelming shots, bad editing/stunts, wasted characters, bad acting. Underwhelming set choices

Tho the batwing is f*cking sick and the opening is strong even tho the audio issues still exist

    Name them?

I thought Cinematography was great, I cant really think of any bad fighting scenes or stunts, like the hallway TENET fight scene in reverse

TDKR was a great f***ing movie man. You're bugging.

The choreo in Tenet is the best Nolan has ever had. By far.

Yeah that was my favorite Nolan choreo before tenet. I still like that first fight between them when Bane breaks him. but the rest of the fights are so s***ty.

Watch that hallway scene and tell me that s*** is good with a straight face

Only cool reverse scenes in the movie was the ending and the highway car chase scenes

No. The last hand to hand fight between them is good but the first one is boring and looks so rigid

Nolan upped the hand to hand fight choreography massively in Tenet. That reverse hall way fight scene is probably the weakest fight in the movie but still better than any hand to hand fights in previous Nolan films. Even as great as the inception hallway fight scene is, it’s because of everything but the actual hand to hand combat

I get what you're saying. I mean yeah, those fight scenes in Tenet were cool from a technical standpoint, like to get them to actually come out, and the process of actually creating them.

But that doesnt change the fact that they looked so stupid on screen. Idgaf how a scene is made, I care about the end product, it has to be cool to look at.

    See Inception, see TDK.

No one cares about the man that goes in the box, they care about the man on the other side.

    See what I did there.

I mean I agree to a degree atleast for the reverse Hall way fight scene. I def don’t think it looked bad, just compared to how insane the final battle or the highway scene or the airplane crash or kitchen fight or the opera scenes are, it just looks more plain and safe.

Kitchen fight was so good. Wish we got more fights like that. Protagonist is a bad ass but he didn’t get to show it enough in fights like that.
