Also although we’re not just here to turn atheist into believers,(had to say it) as an atheist she did pray with me on the phone the other day. She’s so ingrained in the industry and I’ll just say has been through some s*** that many women go through in it and I feel like it’s made her almost give up on god. She was raised catholic as well

I really like this CS Lewis quote

  • Apr 11, 2021

before we get that sense we need an honest sense of ourselves

we all wear masks in our daily lives....the ''friend'' the ''son'' the ''kind boyfriend'' ...even the ''moral christian''

we need to get rid of all these masks, be honest with our light and darkness....our angels and demons

and then we can approach God....Let me give you an example...God (the Holy Trinity) revealed Himself to Paul who at the time was hunting Christians....one may think ''why did He reveal Himself to a person like that and not a preacher??''

the answer is simple = God sees you for who you are and who you can be. If you have no knowledge of yourself how do you expect to know the Creator of the universe and everything in it??

Thanks for the suggestion! It’s daunting I never really realized how much there is to the Bible. It’s a lot to take in

Not to get super into it but my family never went to visit her in hospice and left me to pay for the funeral and everything. My friends were there for me more than my family. My mother’s amazing and I know if there’s a heaven she is there. I just want to be like yeah she’s just 6 feet in the ground. There has to be more than this.

If there's any black ppl in this thread y'all should leave.

Christianity killed more of our ppl than anything.

Look up the Council of Nicaea to see when and why they created jesus

And don't forget about the knights templar, they were diplomatic ppl who didn't impose their beliefs on ppl who had their own

Would you care to elaborate a bit on these points? For example:

When you say that black people should leave this thread - are you referring to African Americans or all blacks around the world - and on what basis should they leave their faith in your opinion?

What do you mean when you say Jesus was 'created' at the Council of Nicaea?

All Blacks, there isn't any further elaboration needed by me you should look into the ones I stated and ask yourself questions about what makes sense, why it makes sense, and who's belief system you've inherited.

Most thoughts are passed down by tradition. See the significance in your life, in what you believe is right or wrong, why is there a right and/or wrong, what is the earth's history before 300 AD, realize that there are specific African tribes that can trace their lineage back 400k+ years. And specifically for Americans, realize this is a Christian country that bombs countries, robs them of their resources, has multiple televangelist preachers with multiple remote locations and no shelters for the homeless, or plans to eradicate homelessness or hunger from this country let alone the world.

You have to research for your own, neither the church nor I can help you find you.

    Safe travels to you all!

Refer to the point I suggested to check out the Council of Nicaea. There you will learn about Ptolemy I Soter. look deeper into that man and what he did with the help of others

Nicea was just a council meant to deal with the Arian heresy.

Sounds generic, kinda like you don't know specifics. If you would like to continue discourse in good faith, it'd cool if you checked out the references I gave

Alright, im not trying to argue in bad faith. Ptolemy I Sorter was alive and died before Christ even walked the earth, so what am I supposed to get from him?
