Yeah i f*** with this. Sonically all over the place as expected with a Bino album outside of AML and Kauai but it works for me. Just happy to hear more music from him
Is the movie out aswell?
I love that period of time when a new project comes out, and it’s the only thing you can listen to for like a week because of how good it is

No info about the movie release yet
Had high hopes for this but not a good sign that my fav track off the first listen was basically a glorified Khruangbin track

what’s your ranking fam?
we all just sharing our thoughts here you don’t gotta try to son me for liking camp more than you
I won’t stand for anyone liking camp

It’s good but not great, a few skips, which is why I gave it a 7/10. He’s young and dorky on it but I still love the production and when he’s talking about more personal stuff on Outside and L.E.S. it really hits tbh, you can feel his emotion in his voice, that’s why he’s a solid actor too
A few verses were kinda iffy, but even those Camp-like bars are fun and endearing. Really enjoying this. Flo Milli verse is sick

I never understood the Camp hate.
Outside of it being a tad campy (looking back)
after watching that Apple interview I agree this is his Ram album
I thought he was saying he wanted to make a Ram album next
Anyone else hearing drake on talk my s*** and Yoshinoya
Because Drake uses Atlanta-esque flows

I got this one just underneath BTI, AML, and Atavista
I never fully tapped in with all his other stuff so I will not speak on those

The only ‘sonically all over the place’ releases Gambino has ever had are 3.15.20/Atavista and this. Everything else was way more cohesive

I actually would argue that Atavista is pretty unified sonically.

Yeah. As hard as camp can be to listen to in retrospect. At the point where I was in my life it was the only rap album that I truly felt and could relate to.
Niggas think rap has to always appeal to the marketability of cool but that album filled a void for black kids that didn’t fall into that criteria the world tells us we have to fill. It did its job. S*** got me out of a tough spot as a black kid surrounded by white folks in Mississippi. Was such an important album for me
