i think the way they've used AI here is just to make the voice sound different from theirs and to sound like grimes instead
seems like the whole song was written by them though
Ooo I see, well damn hope this gets sorted out
Understanding this album means understanding the act Childish Gambino.
CG has always been about Donald intensely proving his musical/artistic worth. From rapping - to singing - to delivering a conceptual album. He had that "Fuck you! - I can do it too, but imma do it my way" mantra. Which is essentially a young mans game.
I think Atavista was supposed to be his final goodbye as CG. Coming of the success of This Is America (and Atlanta). He had caught that universal acclaim moment. And while he was becoming a father, suddenly his own father passes at the height of his fame and success. He cultivated that grief and love into 3.15.20 or Atavista. It had this strong concept of time within life. How it's the only constant we are all experiencing through ups and downs. How we should use it to live now and pass on our growth to the next generation. And with that - Childish Gambino was no longer in need to prove himself.
Except... this was released unmixed, unfinished, no song titles, no artwork, almost purposely made to be forgotten, smack dab in the middle of the pandemic. It's one of the best albums you've never truly heard.
And IMO I think the early CG came back up. The same mantra he had from when he started. "You guys didn't care? Well let me show I can still do it all. Every genre. From rapping to singing. And I'll tie it to a visual medium! Even bigger than the one before." A final victory lap - a final sense of vindictive ambition - a final kick against the collective shin. A full circle moment.
If there's a main take away from this man's musical journey. Is that you have to make/create/live for yourself. The final words of Atavista proclaim: Do what you want to do. And Bando double downed on it. Cause in the end, nobody gives a f***.
this is cute but maybe what youre describing is why the entire rollout gave me real tryhard vibes from dg
Donald Glover stays ripping off songs, damn!!
This is America did not rip off American Pharaoh or whatever it was called. This is totally different to that
some of yall really living up to that twitter meme of 'getting serious boss baby vibes from this' with all the yeezus comparisons

What a moment for Amaarae
this and Kaytra gonna get more clout than she already built herself
I wasn’t f***ing with her verse on Talk My S*** from the livestream but in CDQ she killed it and was the standout verse

He has always been a tryhard. If you think this was bad - you weren't around for the BTI rollout. Which was way more weirdo & obscure. That's just who he is.

ooh I knew id hear this; nah it was more mysterious and a completely different dynamic
Is it possible Bino used AI as well to come up with melody of the song, and it ended up having very similar melodies because of that ?
Not sure how AI works when it comes to music though
AI generated lyrics and melodies are random, the odds of having the same melody and lyrics are the same as winning the lottery.
The start to Got To Be is so damn good, I was like "yeah this the one"
Then he just totally ruins it with whatever tf the rest of that song is supposed to be
are credits for this out yet? i wanna see who worked on that stolen song
Yep. But the person who wrote it has never met any of the songwriters or producers so they dont know how they got a hold of it.
Donald likely didnt even know the reference track was being passed around / used without permission.

The only AI used was the original writer using AI to mask their own voice in the demo
The melody and lyrics are identical to the voice memo they made over a year ago.
bro said don't really hear it
Not meant to be negative. Obviously this is way better than the big day.
Just a basic take like oh s*** family man album
You’re tripping, he mentions his family sure but nothing on here sounds remotely close to the big day
This album really sounds like the end of the world all the production gives me that feel

Wtf so he just straight up stole it???

Yeah, it's the only track that this 'Dylan Wiggins' person is credited on I think, so he's likely where all the answers lie
EDIT: wait nah he has a writing credit on Dadvocate as well
3.15.20 released during a global pandemic
Bando released during a global IT meltdown
S*** crazy
On the livestream from the listening party I can swear it was longer
I wasn’t f***ing with her verse on Talk My S*** from the livestream but in CDQ she killed it and was the standout verse
She has yet to let me down, can’t wait to see her live again
