Sir Swagalot· editedthis may come across as hating as a Charli stan, but it's not the fact that she's going full-blown mainstream that's the problem. it's the fact that the songwriting is not up to snuff as her previous output. i've always wanted something in this style from Charli but judging by the singles, it just seems so middling from her
i hope the rest of the album pans out well

i hate to say it, but she just sounds so insecure rn by lashing out at people for not liking the new direction. i'm sure it's a very vocal minority, but still it comes across as weird behavior from her

yeah my thoughts exactly. dance-pop is one of my favorite styles of music so seeing her lean into that style fully is far from the problem
the Good Ones and New Shapes hooks are just so underwhelming. and then this new one is just a cover of a song i dont love anyway

im fully prepared for it to be a bottom 2 album from her unfortunately. still gonna go in with the most open mind hoping it beats my expectations though ofc

right? this rollout has been going on for damn near 5 months and it sounds like she cooked this s*** up in one day as a demo/reference track for other artists. funny how HIFN was made in a MUCH shorter amount of time and seemed even more fleshed out

the whole irony posts she been doing all rollout is more feeling like a cope to ironically sell out so money goes into her bank account and she get an new record deal while she is a mega popstar.
thats what i get from the rollout imo so far, maybe im harsh but thats how i feel

hate to say it but i agree with you. it's just strange coming from her, like she doesn't have to put up this facade to have a successful album. if the music is good, it'll speak for itself
