this is by far his most polished full-length work since KL. the direction just isn't for me i guess.
i like alone again before the switch up. too late is a weaker Wasted Times to me.
i can not f*** with hardest to love. scared to live is ok, sometimes i like it sometimes i don't.
he's made better versions of snowchild. i like the "leaving into the night" hook
escape from la has always been the highlight for me, he floated on the first half
hated heartless as a single and those type of weeknd songs in general but it provides much needed energy at that point in the album
i know y'all love it but i forget what faith sounds like every time it turns off, oops. outro is dope tho
blinding lights is one of, if not his best pop song. deserves a grammy or two
in your eyes and save your tears are not for me. they sound like they belong on a different project. save your tears coulda been a cool duet with katy perry or somebody (i'm dead serious, that max production reminds me of her)
repeat after me production is cool but blah
after hours remains song of the year
until i bleed out as an outro just seems so...uneventful.
overall the production and cohesion outweighs everything else here for me. but the ideas, melodies, and vocals (!!) are all lacking IMO. i feel like there is no variety in his delivery, or they were soaked in effects which his voice doesn't need.
anyway, been a fan since day 1 and i'm glad to see him get more and more recognition with each release.
i'll be here for the next one!

i'd take nothing compares over more than half of the standard version. great track
missed you is bland, it fits as a bonus track
final lullaby > until i bleed out but i see how until i bleed out fits the album better
