The Big Day wasn’t good overall but it had a few spectacular tracks. Do you remember is genuinely incredible, Eternal too. We go high, sun come down, town on the hill great tracks as well. Also slide around a bop fr, love that track
We Go High

Basically said Big Day was undercooked despite him telling Chance to take break and let it cook. Also blamed him for losing money on the cancelled Big Day Tour cause he knew s*** wasnt gonna sell when the album was getting critically panned

this is crazy, lowkey sketch material, good looks for the info lmao
So half of the album is from the tracks he already released lmao?
Only 2 tracks out of 8 he’s actually released
The reception to Big Day was inevitable. Despite Coloring Book being well received the tides were already turning in hip hop communities. A victim of its own success, I think. Chance was corny and it wasn’t cool to like him if you had “sophisticated” taste. KTT at the time loved to s*** on Chance even before Big Day came out. The only way the album wasn’t going to be panned was if it was a masterpiece. Instead it was more of the same, but more bloated and obnoxious. General audiences caught on that it wasn’t cool to like Chance anymore, even though generally critic scores were good.
I guess what I’m saying is that Big Day sucks, but the majority of people don’t even know why they don’t like it especially if you compare it to his previous albums. I think people rejected Chance as a personality more than the album itself, which is why it’s been so hard for him to bounce back,
once DJ Khaled had Chance rapping the ABCs on one of his albums I knew it was only a matter of time
Tree is like a really bad sequel to No Problem
he got a Grammy off it, I'm not gonna fault him for trying to recreate one of his bigger successes. Could have done better tho
Tree is like a really bad sequel to No Problem
