It has more to do with it just being flat out f***ing corny. S*** I'd rather bump NF than Chance nowadays. He could easily go make a political or conscious type album and people would be right back on the wave

His attitude towards fans online and the media was terrible coupled with his new image of being nice.
He just continued to lose his good will and his personality ironically became more disrespectful.
I think if he maintained being chill it woulda been fine.
I agree that he did have a few rude moments before the album dropped, like when he kept telling that one white fan to eat a d*** lmao, but I wouldn’t call him self righteous. I can’t think of a moment where he came off as thinking he was morally superior to people because of his faith and marriage n s***.
I guess that is enough for people to form a hate boner for him though so I’ll allow it, I mean look at Vic Mensa and Russ

We aren’t begging him to do d**** again and be depressed. We are saying we like him when he is vulnerable. Ultralight bean verse has that feeling even with religion . It’s many of our collective feelings about Jesus is king . You can make good music that doesn’t say praise god and Jesus .

Even before that like when MTV had a negative review on CB and he threatened to never work with them again and had them pull the article.
The TBD Interactions with fans just made me realize he hasn't grown up tbh.
No artist is good with criticism but you can't be telling people about positivity and praising god while getting folks fired and saying "eat a d***"
He set expectations for himself and then went the opposite of em at the hint of criticism.
People gonna go harder on him for that.
