Look up what stiff and emotionless means

Bro, it's my opinion, if you disagree that is fine but don't quote me trying to act like it is somehow less valid, s***s uncalled for

I know the reason, if I wanted to hear "realistic" dialogue id watch a Koreeda movie lmao.
There's a ton of valid reasons why people are being critical, def not nit picking.
Forgot I was in this thread tho so figures it will fall on deaf ears dine

Welcome to modern anime fandom. You're not allowed to dislike anything, so shut up and enjoy things unconditionally. It's become less about the shows and more about showing how hyped you are for the shows. It's impossible to have any discussion about anime nowadays unless you put in the effort to find the right community.

You can be openly negative/critical in a lot of spaces and people will be fine. The CGI complaint was met with a lot of understanding for episode 1 even if a lot of push back happened. People just have the right to disagree . That has always been the case, especially if it involves art

You don’t get tired of the same old same old tho?

I feel like most of the people who are complaining about things in this adaptation want it to fall in line and be like every other shonen.

I’m glad we have rookie VA’s, no gag faces, cinematic direction weekly, no forced shot of powers feet at the end. Feels fresh.

I don't like most shonen shows.
I love seeing studios try new things but I don't think they are executing it well in these episodes so far.
The problem isn't rookie VAs but the way they have been instructed to deliver their lines.
Gag faces are used in anime a lot because it's a common rule in comic making to exagerrate emotions to properly convey them, ofcourse most animation thus follows that rule too but them going for the more realistic approach forces them to abandon that aspect, as a trade off they focus more on still shots on character faces and movement, which doesn't work well for csms art style.
And funny you mention no forced shots or powers feet yet they did a whole scene centered around makimas butt .
I know there is a lot of hate coming from mangareaders rn, but I am not hating here, just sharing my thoughts as a fan of the series.
I don't think the show is doomed or anything lmao, just boring to me so far, we still got 8 eps left so a lot can change.

I'd take this more seriously if you practiced what you preached and it didn't say someones feelings on something were objectively wrong when it was a completely subjective topic

In terms of words like ā€œsomething is stiff and emotionlessā€ i stand by my opinions that by those definitions I’m not sure how that’s possible. If he said ā€œit could use more emotionā€ then i wouldn’t have been so punctual. Y’all also don’t have to agree with me either lol. I can respect someone feelings and think it doesn’t make sense. It’s all love

Chainsawman read like a movie and so far the show is playing out like a movie would. Tone wise, voice acting wise and via the shot composition.

Not really looking to argue or contribute more to the toxicity around the show. We’re all entitled to our opinion I just might not like yours and you may not like mine.

Oh you spittin but it is the case for pretty much any fandom that gets bigger.
I don't consider myself a part of the anime fandom anyways, I read way more manga than I watch anime, it's def a chiller enviroment.

I don’t know what these other Niggas on but I’m loving this s***!

Yup, I adore the manga community. It's still relatively small and niche compared to anime, so most of the community is just people who are really into their niche little hobby and want to talk to others about it.

I also like how a lot of the manga community seems like they've read a lot of manga and have explored multiple genres. It's easier to have a discussion with someone who has a larger knowledge base of the medium compared to the average anime watcher who has seen like 15 shows and 3/4 of them are isekai or battle shounen.

Mappa put their whole Mappussy in this eps

  • Nov 1, 2022

Love the cinematic and grounded approach they're doing with the adaptation, reminds me a bit more of fire punch and makes me excited if mappa ever does an adaptation

Did the majority of the fandom take the manga as really goofy? I always thought it had a depressing undertone which would make sense for a more realistic and muted tone for the show.

Compare it to dorohedoro which Mappa did as well. Dorohedoro manga was way more goofy compared to CSM , so the show is more colorful in its anime adaptation.

  • Nov 1, 2022

The comedic moments definitely don't hit like the manga, but other then that I'm enjoying the anime so far
