I mean I wish it was 24 episodes too but I'm guessing it just came down to timing/budget reasons
still thought S1 was awesome. Can't wait for the rest of the story to get animated.
not to be your typical "its gonna get good around x" type of poster but season 1 really covers my least favorite part of the entire story
I wish they would have done a 24 episodes season for it man
So I should wait till season 2?
Just finished. The season got better by the end.
That first half of the season though, was awful and creepy. You can't convince me that Denji lusting for b**** is good writing. Yeah yeah, he's a hormonal teenager, but there's a way of portraying that without making it seem like even the adults in special division are cool with this (none of the characters check him for his behavior, which is how I know a h**** dude wrote this) Characters were fine but Denji is by far the worst one on the show, followed by Kobeni, and Power (only because she was relegated to side-character very quick). There isn't much on Makima to work with, she's too elusive and we don't end up knowing what her motives are in the division. Aki was cool though, I liked him, and also the mentor for Denji and Power.
Episode 8 is when I felt the show really went into full gear with some shocking moments, and overall the writing became more focused and less cringy. The training sequences, and the train fight in the final episode were quite enjoyable. I just wish there was more action, since there wasn't much substance in terms of plot. Having contracts between devils and devil hunters is a cool bit of lore, and I was curious to learn more about that.
Overall, I'm left scratching my head, because even though Demon Slayer has some aspects I'm not too big on, it has better action sequences than CSM, and the same goes for JJK, which I'd also pick over this, but I did want to check out CSM to find out if the hype was worth it. Sadly, the show's not for me.

Pick up the manga. I started reading it while the show was airing and it gave me a much more satisfying experience. The show basically ends when the story finally starts to get interesting. You will grow to appreciate the characters (shoutout Aki, my personal favorite).

Low-key might do this actually. Does the show cut a lot of things from the manga?

Nah, not at all. If anything the show added stuff. Agree that the show ends pretty much when s*** starts to hit the fan.
John Wick arc incoming
