People exaggerate the sound quality in comparison to other mediums

ive got my macbook all plugged up to the point that streaming music from it sounds just as good if not better than my vinyl setup. with that said even many years deep the more i listen the more i realize that its not an exaggeration and vinyl absolutely smokes sound wise. its as close to lossless a***og listening as one can get at home. plus you hit the diminishing returns point fairly early when buying up equipment so even a cheaper system provides quite an improvement sound wise, especially if the record is done right for it

thats the only edge that a cd collection has over vinyl

that and the fact that its not nearly as much of a pain in terms of logistics. if i ever need to move i am all the way F***ED with my collection

I've had to move 7 times in the last 10 with a pretty decent sized collection. I've used the same boxes every time and usually pack them with clothing/bedding/pillows/towels to minimize any sorta damage from moving around. Obviously a couple of them over time have had some wear and tear but I've pretty much mastered the art of moving my records

Yeah i agree it's still the best by a decent bunch... Idk why I'm downplaying I'm just used to exhaustive counter-punches from casuals irl about the sound that I've grown a natural instinct to just downplay it in fear of an unnecessary argument

Lexus finally got rid of CD players in their cars for the 2026 models.

I think the 2026 Subaru WRX is the last vehicle with a CD player.

I’m sure most cars made in 2026 are gonna charge a subscription fee for air conditioning at this point.

Can’t explore other countries and remote locations while listening to your favorite albums unless you own them in my experience.

Me. I am. I’ll always have a computer that does. It does make sense for those computers to cease to be sold because they can charge you for cloud space or subscription fees instead of you buying something once and owning it
